LABORATORY GROWN DIAMONDS
There has been a lot of controversy about non ‘naturally’ made diamonds which I will attempt to explain to you below.
To begin with what is meant by ‘a natural diamond’?
A natural diamond is one which has been made by nature, meaning that it was created many millions of years ago and brought to us through a variety of sources such as alluvial deposits, volcanic activity, mining etc.
There are quite a few diamond alternatives which I will call ‘synthetic’ diamond. These are basically totally different sorts of crystal formations, the most common being Zirconium and cubic Zirconium. These ‘fake’ diamonds are sold under a variety of labels, the best known being ‘Moissanite’.
Having said this there is also, what I would call man-made diamonds, which has nothing in common with ‘synthetic’ diamond but is, in its molecular structure, identical to the real thing, the only difference is that it has been made, by man, in a laboratory.
Now please let us get this straight once and for all ! One cannot tell the difference between a laboratory grown diamond and a ‘natural’ one as they are IDENTICAL in their molecular and crystalline structures they are both real diamonds.
Scientists have been able to make diamonds in a laboratory since the early sixties, however, the diamonds produced were only good to be used in industry. Diamonds, laboratory grown for jewellery were both far too expensive to produce and in far too little quantity in order to make this a financially sound proposition.
These past few years has seen a change in technology and it has now become possible and financially interesting to produce sizeable diamonds of gem quality.
As I wish only to be able to help my clients I have decided that should they feel the desire to purchase these laboratory grown diamonds, that I will gladly supply them. This means that within a similar size, cut and quality, for the moment, laboratory grown diamonds can be obtained at between 15% to 50% below current natural diamond prices which can mean far more value for money to you.
I feel sure that you will want a more elaborate and more detailed account of what laboratory grown diamonds have as advantage over the natural ones.
As an example you are guaranteed that the diamond is TOTALLY conflict free which is important to many, I know.
Please do not hesitate to enquire as I will find it a pleasure to assist you further.
